It’s true what they say…you can’t predict the weather, and that is certainly the case in Georgia in late winter and early spring! As an Atlanta Maternity Photographer, it can be difficult to find outdoor session locations during the winter. Everything tends to look brown and a bit more “blah” this time of year. Plus, you never know if it will be 30 or 60 degrees, which makes it difficult to plan outfits. However, thanks to a rescheduled maternity session (due to rain), and mid-60 temperatures in mid-February, the beautiful Japanese Magnolia trees bloomed early this year – just in time for this beautiful session!
I just love how the sunlight hits these fabulously pink blooms, which is perfect for this momma-to-be since she’s having a little girl this month. We paired the blooms with a lightly floral Nothing Fits But dress from my client closet. As an Atlanta maternity photographer, its important for me to either provide or help find perfect and flattering dresses for my moms-to-be.
Fun fact – I’ve known this client for a long time as we worked together for years at the same advertising agency (the same agency I actually still work at during the week!). We were on some fun clients together including Chick-fil-A and Marriott hotels.
We lucked out with a fabulously sunny and decently warm February afternoon at Winn Park near Midtown Atlanta. It’s a large park tucked away in a neighborhood, surrounded by beautiful homes and featuring stone step pathways, wooden benches, a pond and lots of space for dogs to run. Take a look below at more images from our session. I can’t wait to meet baby girl soon!
